City of Enderby Issues Precautionary Water Quality Advisory Beginning February 3, 2020

ENDERBY – The City of Enderby is issuing a precautionary Water Quality Advisory for its Drinking Water System due to work to complete improvements to its Water Treatment Plant.

The Water Quality Advisory takes effect at 2 pm on Monday, February 3, 2020. It is anticipated that the Water Quality Advisory will end on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11:59 pm unless further notice is provided. A Water Quality Advisory is issued when there is some risk associated with consuming drinking water but a boil water notice is not required.

During this time, the Shuswap Well groundwater source will supply water directly to the City’s reservoirs. All drinking water will continue to be disinfected with chlorine. However, the second ultraviolet treatment barrier will not be in service.

Until this notice is rescinded, anyone wishing for extra protection, including caregivers for infants or those with a compromised immune system, may wish to boil water for drinking, washing fruit and vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth. Water should be boiled rapidly for at least 1 minute or an alternate safe source of water may be used.

All updates will be posted to the City of Enderby website and Facebook page, as well as on its digital sign located north of City Hall on George Street. Please help by informing others.

This notice affects all water users on the City of Enderby Drinking Water System including users in Splatsin and Area F of the Regional District of North Okanagan.

For further information, contact the City of Enderby at 250-838-7230 or [email protected].
