There have been significant changes to the way students receive their education at the Shihiya School, School District No. 83 and post-secondary institutions. The latest changes to your education will be posted here.
During these challenging times please be assured that Shihiya School continues to follow all COVID-19 safety measures and guidelines listed in our school reopening plan above. We also continue to work closely with Splatsin Health Services and the First Nations Health Authority. The safety of our students and staff is of utmost importance and we are committed to working with our families and will keep everyone updated with any new information that comes our way.
Splatsin’s Education Department continues to work closely with the SD83’s Indigenous Education Department to learn about the latest changes due to the pandemic. Learn about changes for SD83 Schools here. These are all unique and varied due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through our meetings, we can ensure our families that the school district has worked very hard to provide a safe and healthy environment for students to attend school in person. We have visited schools and witnessed the precautions that have been put in place. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s education, please contact their school administrator. If you need help accessing their contact information, please do not hesitate to contact our office and we can help you.
Most post-secondary institutions continue to operate during the pandemic. Some programs are available online, while others remain in-person. If you want to attend post-secondary school in 2020 and have questions about how it will look, contact our Education Department.
