Shihiya School has been owned and operated by Splatsin since 1980. The preschool through grade seven curriculum follows that of the Province of B.C. in addition to the integration of Splatsin language and culture into learning. The School is Certified by the First Nations Schools Association (FNSA) every five years and is federally funded by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC).

The Shihiya School has four classes in 2020/21. Each classroom covers two to three grades and is led by a Qualified Teacher and a Certified Education Assistant.

Registration is now open for the 2022-23 school year.
Shihiya School works in collaboration with First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) and First Nations School Association (FNSA). The School is certified every five years by FNSA. The curriculum is delivered within the B.C. Ministry of Education Framework and embedded with Splatsin culture, history and language.
