National and Regional Awards Draw


First Nations children (up to age 14) and First Nations youth (aged 15 to 30) currently attending school are invited to submit videos and artwork that tell stories of their First Nations cultures and everyday life:

  • storytelling
  • video of songs or dances
  • learning on the land
  • artwork on culture
  • storytelling theme

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase cultures in your communities and schools. Your submission will be featured on the First Nations Education Administrators Storyteller Page Àdisὁkewinini in Algonquin Anishinaabemowin.



Eligibility and Submission Criteria

The draw is open to First Nations children (up to age 14) and First Nations youth (aged 15 to 30) currently attending school.

A completed application, proof of student status and entry must be received by FNEAA by 11:59pm EST on February 3, 2023. Draw winner may also be invited to participate in the First Nations Education Administrators Association’s Virtual Youth & Knowledge Gathering Circle on February 15, 2023.

Regional Draws

  • All students, classes and student groups will receive a certificate of participation and a small gift.
  • Each region will include a draw for three awards for your school cultural, arts and class program  (First prize: $500.00; Second prize: $250.00; and Third prize: $200.00.
  • Regional Awards will be chosen by draw for each of the following areas across Canada; 1) Yukon & NWT, and Nunavut 2) British Columbia, 3) Alberta, 4) Saskatchewan, 5) Manitoba, 6) Ontario, 7) Quebec and 8) Atlantic (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland & Labrador).

Regional Draws

First prize: $500
Second Prize: $250
Third prize: $200



National Winners

National winners will be selected by their peers. Each entrant will be asked to identify the top three submissions that resonate with them (liked the message, can use the teaching, or learned something new). 


National Prizes
First prize: $500
Second Prize: $400
Third prize: $300



All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a small gift in recognition of their submission.
