First Nations children (up to age 14) and First Nations youth (aged 15 to 30) currently attending school are invited to submit videos and artwork that tell stories of their First Nations cultures and everyday life:
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase cultures in your communities and schools. Your submission will be featured on the First Nations Education Administrators Storyteller Page Àdisὁkewinini in Algonquin Anishinaabemowin.
Eligibility and Submission CriteriaThe draw is open to First Nations children (up to age 14) and First Nations youth (aged 15 to 30) currently attending school.A completed application, proof of student status and entry must be received by FNEAA by 11:59pm EST on February 3, 2023. Draw winner may also be invited to participate in the First Nations Education Administrators Association’s Virtual Youth & Knowledge Gathering Circle on February 15, 2023.Visit: www.fneaa.ca/2023StorytellersAwards for more details.
Regional Draws
Regional DrawsFirst prize: $500Second Prize: $250Third prize: $200
National WinnersNational winners will be selected by their peers. Each entrant will be asked to identify the top three submissions that resonate with them (liked the message, can use the teaching, or learned something new).
National PrizesFirst prize: $500Second Prize: $400Third prize: $300
All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a small gift in recognition of their submission.
