A Message from the SD83 Superintendent

The following is a message from School District 83 Superintendent, Donna Kriger.

As We Head into Spring Break

SD83 Employees & Families,

I recognize that these last two years have been a tumultuous time for our families, our schools, and for our communities. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have continuously navigated the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning on Monday, April 4, 2022, SD83 will remove the masking mandate in school district facilities and buses. SD83 will continue to be a “mask-friendly” environment. Medical grade masks will still be available to employees and students for voluntary use.

We are also reminding employees and students to complete a daily personal screening check before school to ensure they are feeling well. Individuals who are feeling ill are asked to remain at home.

I want to sincerely thank parents and community members who have reached out to seek understanding through respectful dialogue over the last eight months. Everyone has felt the impact of a prolonged pandemic. Please continue to be patient and trust that we are all working towards the same goal – maintaining respectful, healthy, and welcoming environments for all students and staff.

I trust that each of you will have the opportunity to enjoy the next two weeks. May you have time to enjoy family, friends, and the spring weather we are currently experiencing.

See you back on Monday, April 4, 2022.

With gratitude,

Donna Kriger,

Superintendent
