The Institute for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention is a collaborative research centre based at the University of British Columbia Okanagan in Kelowna, BC. We encourage and support research that links communities with the university with a focus on creating and using new knowledge in ways that benefit individuals, families and communities.

Project Description

Dads in Gear (DIG) is a new program for Aboriginal fathers and grandfathers to support their efforts to stop using cigarettes and spit tobacco. DIG focuses on connecting active fathering with healthy lifestyles.

 

 Services Required and Fees

  • An original graphic design concept is wanted for branding and promotion of the Aboriginal DIG program and the program website.
  • There may be an opportunity to extend this design work as we move forward with Aboriginal DIG program development.
  • We are looking for a blend of contemporary and traditional Aboriginal art that would resonate with Aboriginal fathers and grandfathers.
  • Suitable designs that have already been completed and that fit with the DIG session themes will be considered.
  • The fee and all associated costs, including taxes, may be described as an hourly rate with an estimate of the total cost.

 

        The artist must reside in BC and have Indigenous ancestry.

 

Estimated Project Duration

November 1st 2016 – February 28, 2017

Please provide an introduction summarizing your background and relevant experience as an Aboriginal artist, along with a sample or samples of your work. Award of the contract will be based on pricing and portfolio review.
