Splatsin Health Services has added new services to its Nursing Programs!

Home Care Program

Assessments and Care Plans

Splatsin’s Home Care Nurse visits homes upon request and will complete an assessment and care planning. Depending on the outcome of the assessment, the individual may be eligible for a variety of homemaking or homecare supports, including the services listed below.

  • Baths:  Spa bathing at the Splatsin Health Centre once per week as well in-office foot care.
  • Meal Drop-off:  Home-cooked by Splatsin’s Holistic Nutritionist, a meal is delivered to home care clients’ homes on Tuesdays.
  • Elders’ Luncheon: On Thursdays, lunch and information is provided by the Community Health Nurse and Nutritionist on Chronic Disease Prevention.
  • Transportation: To and from essential appointments.
  • Homemaking/Homecare Supports: Access to regular homemaking and care-aid support in homes. For example, this may include light home cleaning, light meal preparation, respite or companionship, personal care support such as in home personal care assist, medication assist, and sails exercises.
  • In home Nurse Visits: Monitoring, footcare, woundcare, catheter supports, medication supports, assessing for in-home equipment supports such as lifeline, bathing equipment, and walkers.


Community Health Program

  • Development of registries to track client services and outcomes.
  • Communicable disease prevention and management:
    • Immunizations to reduce the risk of communicable disease in the community.
  • Covid supports:
    • Covid support and information.
    • Meal support as per FNHA funding guidelines.
  • Women’s health:
    • Preventative screening such as mammography and paps.
  • Maternal and child health:
    • Prenatal, postnatal, breastfeeding, child development support.
  • Chronic disease prevention and management with focused attention on diabetes, heart disease & cancer.
  • Support for essential medical appointments.
