** K41796 Fire Update **

The proposed small-scale planned ignition did not occur yesterday, August 9 due to thunderstorms passing through that brought a change in wind direction and weather predictability. Smoke and increased fire activity may be visible from communities of Armstrong and Enderby as well as travelers along Highway 97 and 97A.

The intent of this planned ignition is to bring the active fire perimeter to already established control lines, under fire behavior conditions that are more suitable for efficient and effective fire suppression efforts.

There are currently 70 personnel responding to this wildfire. 4 helicopters are on site as well as 12 pieces of heavy equipment. Structural protection units are responding to this incident.
