Fire Alert: Silver Creek

** FIRE ALERT ** SILVER CREEK ** BORDERING SPLATSIN RESERVE **

The Shuswap Emergency Program can confirm one lightning-caused fire wildfire has started upslope between the 2500 and 2700-block of Salmon River Road.

It is noted on the BC Wildfire Dashboard as the Hullcar Mountain (K41796) wildfire. The fire is listed as out of control and is measured at 10 hectares.

• Two 3 person crews (6 firefighters total) are currently battling the wildfire.
• Fixed wing support is dropping fire retardant.
• Two (2) helicopters are bucketing.
• Heavy equipment will be arriving soon.

BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is continuing to assess the fire and is sending additional resources.
