EOC Update 14

Waytk (Hello) members:

We have deployed a number of staff to conduct patrols within IR1 Salmon River to check for hot spots and new fires. You may notice Splatsin Development Corporation vehicles patrolling your area. This is a safety measure to keep our lands safe while fires continue to burn throughout Secwepemculew and the Okanagan.

Today, Tkwamipla7 Theresa William and staff are delivering the IR1 Evacuation Plan door-to-door. This is also available on the website here: [LINK]. An IR2 Evacuation Plan will be published if necessary.

For questions, contact the Splatsin EOC at (250) 838-0775. Read below for a summary of updated information for fires in our area.

Despite this impact to aerial operations, the smoke and haze resulted in lower fire behavioiur on site. Ground crews were able to successfully continue to mop up from yesterdays planned ignitions on the northern flank of the fire.
