There are currently 0 active cases and 0 individuals in self-isolation in our community.
Splatsin Health Services is holding COVID-19 clinics next week to administer booster shots and the children’s vaccine. Call Katrina at the Health Centre to book: (250) 308-6022.
The booster shot is for band members who were vaccinated at the Community Centre in March and June. The booster shot is an additional dose of the vaccine that helps you maintain and lengthen your protection against COVID-19 and is offered 6-8 months after the second vaccine dose for individuals 18 and older. Learn more about booster shots here.
The vaccine for children ages 5-11 is a safe and effective way to protect your little ones against COVID-19. There is a very strict approval process for vaccines. These vaccines work and are safe for your children. Most children who get COVID-19 have minor illnesses, but some get very sick. Some children may continue to have health issues long after contracting the virus. Children can also get the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as other routine vaccinations, including the flu shot. Learn more about the children’s vaccine here.
Most COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and ICU visits involve the unvaccinated. Approximately 86% of ICU patients in BC are not vaccinated. Only 62.5% of band members living on-reserve have been fully vaccinated. Enderby is also below the provincial rate at 67%. The provincial vaccination rate is 78%. This means we have some catching up to do if we want to get back to the things we love. Band members 18+ who have not yet received their first dose can book their appointment by clicking here or by calling 1-833-838-2323.
