COVID-19 Community Update 65

COVID-19 UPDATE 65

As of today, Splatsin is reporting 0 active cases and 1-5 in self-isolation. We are currently in Alert Level 4: VERY HIGH.

Protect our elders and our community’s most vulnerable people. COVID-19 impacts people of all ages and conditions, but elders and people with chronic health issues are at higher risk of serious illness or death if they are infected with this virus. If you won’t follow provincial health orders for yourself, do it for our elders and knowledge keepers in our community as they have taught us everything. Do it for our community’s most vulnerable people.

The current restrictions expire tomorrow (Friday). There will be new or changing restrictions announced here by the Public Health Officer after 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.

Regardless of what changes following this announcement, we know that to help stop the spread of COVID-19 we must continue to:

  • Limit gatherings to members of your household only. Do not host gatherings at your house or attend gatherings at other houses.
  • Avoid non-essential travel to other communities. You should only be leaving your house for work, medical appointments, or essential supplies such as groceries.
  • In public, wear a face mask and keep a physical distance of 6’ between yourself and others.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer when soap isn’t an option. Avoid touching your face until your hands are clean.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow.
  • If you’re sick, self-isolate in your room and call Splatsin Health Services at (250) 838-9538. After hours, call HealthLink BC at 811. If your symptoms are severe, call 911.
