COVID-19 Community Update 57

Some Splatsin community members have been exposed to an individual who is COVID-19 positive. It is important to note that this individual does not live in the community nor have they visited our reserves. Splatsin Health Services (SHS) is working closely with Interior Health (IH) as they identify and notify people who the individual has been in contact with This process is known as Contact Tracing. If you have been contacted by a public health nurse and ordered to self-isolate, you must stay home to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Self-isolation means:

  1. STAY HOME inside your bedroom by yourself
  2. FOOD can be brought to your door
  3. DO NOT LEAVE your room except to use the washroom and to walk outside by yourself. This means no shopping, drive-thrus or gas stations
  4. SANITIZE any hard surfaces you touch after use
  5. SICK? Call Splatsin Health Services: (250) 838-9538 on weekdays. After hours, call HealthLink BC and speak to a nurse: 8-1-1
  6. Call 9-1-1 if you: 1) are having difficulties breathing 2) have chest pain 3) a hard time waking up 4) are confused 5) can’t drink anything and/or 6) are feeling much worse
