Community-to-Community Presentation: Splatsin’s History and the Residential School System

We are Secwépemc. We have our own language; our own culture; our own traditions and; our own laws throughout our traditional lands covering 180,000 square kilometres, 32 communities, and a population of 15,000+ people. We have total jurisdiction and title and rights to all of our people, lands, and resources. We have not surrendered, ceded, or released them to the government. We are not involved in the BC Treaty process.

We demand a just resolution to the land in question based on recognition of our jurisdiction and co-existence, not extinguishment and application of provincial laws to our lands, waters, animals, plants, and people.
