Fishing Licence: Chinook Salmon Harvest Now Open to Community Members

All Splatsinac are permitted to harvest Chinook salmon on the Shuswap River through September 30, 2021.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to pick up a Splatsin Fishing Licence from the Yucwmenlύcwu Natural Resources administration office located at 300 George Street. You can call and speak with Sheila at (250) 838-077 ext. 122, reach out by email at [email protected], or visit the office at 300 George Street to pick up your fishing licence on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Licences will also be offered to members already fishing. In the evenings at the Enderby bridge you can speak with Sherman Nicholas for your licence. Sherman will also be conducting community catch surveys with members to report harvest numbers to Kukpi7 & Tkwamipla7 (Chief & Council).

Due to anticipated low numbers of returning Chinook this year, the Splatsin Fishery is not open to non-community members currently without special permissions from leadership. Exceptions may be made for non-community member youth.
