Please be advised that a ban on Category 2 and 3 open burning will be implemented in the Kamloops Fire Centre beginning May 17, 2024. KFC’s restrictions apply anywhere in its jurisdiction that is not governed by a fire protection bylaw.
Per policy, the Enderby & District Fire Department follows suit with KFC’s restrictions unless the Fire Chief directs otherwise, as this helps to avoid public confusion by harmonizing fire prevention measures. In this case, the Fire Chief is supportive of the restriction due to the fire hazard.
