BC Declares Provincial State of Emergency


The Province of British Columbia has declared a Provincial State of Emergency, which enacts emergency orders that allow restrictions to specific areas.

The following areas with restricted access are as follows:

  • Kelowna and West Kelowna
  • Kamloops
  • Oliver
  • Osoyoos
  • Penticton
  • Vernon

What is considered essential travel: 

  • Providing emergency or critical services
  • Registering for Emergency Support Services and/or Lodging Centers 
  • Travelling for health or medical reasons
  • Assisting with moving to a different principal residence
  • Carrying out a temporary work-related purpose, including volunteer work
  • Getting groceries

What is categorized as non-essential travel:

  • Travel for vacation/tourism
  • Entertainment (movies, arena, sports event)
  • Visiting friends or family
  • Recreational activities

We asked that during these times that only essential travel is permitted right now for your safety.
