2020 Splatsin Graduates


The Education Department would like to congratulate our 2020 graduates. These band members have achieved a great feat and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.

Justine Beaudette

Justine has been part of A L Fortune’s Young Men and Girls’ Group since she started attending A.L.F. and has participated in many cultural and craft making activities. After graduation, she hopes to work for a company as an online animator, or perhaps freelance in the field on YouTube.


Britney Bixby

Britney has been in Sea Cadets for the past five years, and has attained the rank of Petty Officer 1. This summer she plans to attend Cadet Camp in Comox. Her future plans are to attend Thompson Rivers University to pursue sciences for her entry into a veterinary program.


Destiny Bird

Destiny is glad that high school is finished so that she can move on. She is looking into military programs.


Orin Cardinal

Orin will be attending Thompson Rivers University in 2021 for Industrial Mechanics (Millwright/Machinist).


Illyana Christian

Parents: Adam and Kristi Christian. Paternal grandparents: Wayne Christian and Tina-Marie Christian. Maternal grandparents: Travis Setter and Donna Hadden (Tom Hadden-deceased). Illyana has been accepted into Capilano University for the Indigenous Digital Filmmaking Program starting September 2020. Illyana is passionate about social justice, music, writing, and film.


Cindy Couch

Professional Lands Management Certification University of Saskatchewan and College of Agriculture and Bioresources.


Alicia Dominick

A mother of three beautiful children and wife to Shawn Schreiner, Alicia graduated from her Early Childhood Education course in December 2019. She finished my Infant and Toddler course at the end of July. Alicia is still shocked at the completion of her two courses within two years.


Trevor Felix

Trevor is a Secwepèmc artist, musician, and activist. For the past decade he has lived in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Watuth territories. Trevor recently graduated from the Indigenous Land Stewardship program at the Native Education College, and is now employed as the Community Educator at Pivot Legal Society. He hopes to return to Secwepèmculecw for a visit soon and would like to say Kukstetemc for all the support from back home.


Samantha Nicholas

Sam was a member of A L Fortune’s Traditional Drum Team as well as the Young Mens’ and Girls’ Group. She would like to attend the PACE program in Salmon Arm, and then work in the Splatsin Daycare. She would also like to be a YouTube gamer, but until then, she will pursue that as a hobby and will continue working in the daycare. She plans to travel to Ontario to meet an friend before she begins working.


Nila Sutherland

Daughter of Karen & Tracy Sutherland. Graduated from Brewster, WA. Attending Wenatchee Valley College in the Fall.


Tina William

Tina completed her Early Childhood Education December 2019 and Infant Toddler certificate July 2020. Tina is grateful to have had the opportunity to reach her educational goals. This has been the most amazing journey and she wouldn’t have been able to do it without the constant love and support of her fiance Chris August, mother, Bev William, father, George William, and sister in-law, Roberta Thomas. Tina thanks Darrel Jones and Nerissa Joseph for helping her get into all the programs so she could reach her full potential.


Reily Yee

Reily plans on taking at least a year off to go up north and work and make some money before he goes to college for trades.
