Splatsin officials will be breaking ground on a new $3 million-dollar, 10-unit housing complex; the first new housing development in over 20 years.

Secwepemcúl̓ecw (Shuswap) – Earlier this year, Splatsin announced that it has received $2,975,500 from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation to develop a 10-unit housing complex under the Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) Program. The development will house Splatsin families wanting to stay in or return to the community.

There will be a ceremony held on Friday, June 25 at 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. featuring speeches from Splatsin officials, a blessing of the land, a photo opportunity, and a site tour. The ceremony will be kept short due to the extreme heat.
