Home / Member Engagement / National Range Day: June 3, 2023
Hello Everyone,
The Vernon Fish & Game Club is inviting the Splatsin community to an open house at their range in Lavington on Saturday June 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This event is for all ages, but a key part of the activities will be .22 rifles and pistols, where participants can shoot steel (makes a ping sound), ice targets (shatter when shot), and pop balloons.
They will also have archery and may have long distance shooting (up to 300-400m) with .22 rifles for people to participate in. There will be demonstrations of other shooting disciplines—one that has been confirmed is called Cowboy Action—where people dress up and use pre-1900 guns to shoot targets as fast as possible.
There will be a free BBQ and the entire event is free to attend and participate.
The Splatsin Recreation Program is offering transportation for those who wish to attend. Please contact Sean Johansen by e-mailing [email protected] or calling (250) 212-3523 to sign-up. There are 24 spots available that will be filled on a FCFS basis for those who sign-up. The bus will be leaving from the Community Centre at 9:00 a.m. and returning for 3:00 p.m. Youth 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
