Hḷagṃ̓iɫ known as Frances D. Brown is a descendent of the Heiltsuk and Kitasoo tribes of what is currently known as British Columbia. Frances has spent over two decades revitalizing the Heiltsuk language and culture.
As the Language Revitalization Manager, Frances is unwavering in her commitment to improving Haíɫzaqvḷa programs. She is a passionate community activist and can empower, motivate, and inspire new learners to reach their potential. Through her supportive and thoughtful leadership Frances has promoted significant change in how revitalizing haíɫzaqvḷa is delivered. Her passion to learn new ways of teaching an Indigenous language has afforded exciting and engaging experiences for Frances both within and outside of Bella Bella, BC.
During this Gathering Circle Townhall, Frances will share her experiences, with a focus on Adult Language Immersion Program, that have resulted in a strong foundation on which to build strong and vibrant language and cultural programs. Opportunities to network and share other best practices in language revitalization will be given to the participants.

Your voice matters, you are encouraged to share information, experiences, and stories from the local level. The Gathering Circles will feature findings, best practices and stories followed by an active conversation with participants.
FNEAA will host a series of Gathering Circles on Education on themes related to structural readiness, partnerships and youth and culture from September 2022 to March 2023. This is your opportunity to share your perspectives and learn from the experience and insights of fellow First Nations education administrators.
