Due to ongoing concerns surrounding COVID-19, there will not be a physical celebration for National Indigenous Peoples Day this year, however, we will be sharing both a how-to video for collages and quotes from elders about local landmarks on June 21. To do this, we need involvement from band members:
Telling Your Story Collage
Band members 14 and older are encouraged to create a collage with your photos and craft supplies provided by Splatsin. A how-to video will be posted here on June 21 to help you with your collage. Pick-up your collage supplies at the Enderby Library:
Local Landmark Storytelling
We are seeking Splatsin Elders to share knowledge about a local landmark. Your photo and a quote about the landmark will be posted here on June 21. A small honorarium is available. Deadline to register is June 12.
