K41796 Fire Updates
No perimeter growth and no increase in fire activity has been noted since this morning. The fire continues to display Rank 1 or Rank 2 behavior, meaning smoldering or low vigor surface fire. There are isolated areas where the fire continues to display more intense Rank 3 behavior, meaning a vigorous surface fire with occasional entire tree burning known as candling.
Crews continue to make progress on all fire flanks. A contingency guard was established on the eastern fire flank, providing a back-up guard between the fire and Enderby. Containment lines are holding and crews are working to strengthen containment lines on the north flank.
The fire is currently mapped at 700 hectares. Potential for fire growth is along the northern and eastern fire flanks. Weather conditions are expected to be stable and will not significantly move the fire, though there are thunderstorms forecasted which may create unpredictable winds.
Today, structural protection measures will continue to be deployed in the Hullcar, Felix, William, and Clcahl Road areas.
An overnight update of the fire will be provided in the morning.
