Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible before evacuation; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.Here’s a checklist to help you stay organized and safe:1. Review Your Emergency Plan: Ensure everyone in your household is familiar with the evacuation routes, meeting points, and emergency contacts. Update your plan to include your pets.2. Pack Your Grab-and-Go Bag: Gather essential items such as food, water, medications, first aid supplies, and important documents. Don’t forget your pets’ needs as well.3. Secure Your Property: Clear all combustible materials from around your home, including debris from the roof and gutters, and ensure a 10-meter defensible zone around your property.4. Protect Your Home: If time allows, cover vents with non-combustible tape, move flammable materials away from your home, and close all doors and windows. Turn off your air conditioning unit but don’t turn off the gas unless directed.5. Register for Emergency Support Services (ESS): Sign up through the BC Services Card app to receive temporary support for accommodation and necessities if needed.6.
