PT Drinking Water Safety Monitor Safety Worker: Band Members Only

The Splatsin are the southernmost tribe of the Secwepemc Nation, the largest Interior Salish speaking First Nation in Canada whose aboriginal territory stretches from the BC/Alberta border near the Yellowhead Pass to the plateau west of the Fraser River, southeast to the Arrow Lakes and to the upper reaches of the Columbia River.

Position Purpose

This part-time position (approximately 10 hours per week) reports directly to the Health Operations Manager. The Drinking Water Safety Worker will collect water samples from four sites and deliver to the Health Centre Lab.  Resultant Data Forms are forwarded to the Environmental Health Officer (EHO) once the sampling process is complete. It is the responsibility of the Drinking Water Safety Worker to ensure weekly water testing and reporting is complete as per schedule.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have a Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
  • Possess a reliable vehicle (vehicle allowance provided)
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Must be willing to provide a Criminal Record Check and a clear Driver’s Abstract
