About Splatsin
The Splatsin (pronounced spla-jeen) people reside on Indian reserve lands adjacent to the City of Enderby to the south and across the Shuswap River to the east. The Splatsin are the southernmost tribe of the Secwépemc Nation, the largest Interior Salish speaking First Nation in Canada. Our aboriginal territory stretches from the B.C./Alberta border near the Yellowhead Pass to the plateau west of the Fraser River, southeast to the Arrow Lakes and to the upper reaches of the Columbia River.
Splatsin Stsmamlt Services is an organization of social workers and family support workers who are responsible for carrying out the community’s child and family service program. We are currently recruiting a full-time qualified Social Worker to join our team of professionals.
Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to support Splatsin families and children while providing a broad range of social services, such as family preservation, ensuring the safety and providing guardianship services to Splatsin children, developing individual and customized child and youth plans, integrating Secwepemc/Splatsin culture and values in day-to-day practice, and maintaining caseload and all necessary paperwork.
